 MCA-111

Modular Headend Amplifier System

For modern cable headends and hubs, our Modular Headend Amplifier System, Model MCA-111, is perfect for applications such as headend laser transmitter drivers or signal power boosters. It includes from one to a maximum of four amplifiers in a 1RU 19" chassis. Various gain amplifiers can be mixed in a single frame and may include amplifiers for return, as well as for forward path applications.

The amplifiers are easily accessible from the front chassis and are powered with two built-in power supplies connected in redundant configuration. Each of these power supplies is capable of supporting the full load of four amplifiers.  In the unlikely event of a single power supply's failure, you can replace it without interrupting service, increasing the system's reliability.

FEATURES:

  • Excellent input and output return losses: minimum 20dB (50-870MHz) with typical values as high as 24dB to 26dB, helping to maintain proper matching between these amplifiers and other equipment connected to them.

  • High output signal level, excellent frequency response and distortion characteristics.

  • Alarm circuitry constantly monitors the powering of each amplifier, output of each power supply, and temperature inside the chassis. The monitoring signal is transmitted through the DB-15 connector at the back of the chassis.

  • Front panel LEDs allow for visual monitoring of each amplifier power status, cooling fans on/off condition, and power supply module.

  • Plug-in attenuator and equalizers at the input and output of amplifiers, giving the operator capability to achieve required gain and slope for a particular application.

  • Low noise figure.

  • Optional test ports available.

  • Chassis and amplifier housings are designed for optimum heat dissipation.

  • Highest density in the industry with up to four amplifiers in 1RU 19” chassis for efficient usage of available rack space.
