UHP-100 SeriesUniversal Headend PlatformThe all new UHP-101 Universal Headend Platform has been designed for modern cable TV headends and hubsite applications. Its 1RU compact design allows for installation of two HAF or HAR Series amplifiers and two MCP Series passive modules within a 19” rack mountable chassis. For design convenience and operator flexibility, amplifiers and passive modules can now be mixed in a single frame for both forward and return path applications. A wide variety of HAF/HAR Series amplifiers and MCP Series passive modules are available, allowing many design combinations for active splitting or combining of RF signals. The HAF/HAR Series amplifier modules are powered by a single power supply module, which is easily accessible from the front of the chassis. In the unlikely event of a power supply failure, it can be easily replaced to minimize downtime.
FEATURES The UHP-101 chassis is 19” wide, taking up only 1RU. It allows for installation of two modular HAF/HAR Series amplifier modules and two MCP Series modular passives for exceptional density and efficient usage of available rack space. A set of front panel mounted LEDs and internal circuitry allow for visual monitoring of each amplifiers power status and output voltage of the power supply module. Completely modular frame contains components on the front and back sides of the chassis for easy access to modular amplifiers, plug-in attenuators and equalizers. Amplifier modules offer excellent input and output return losses: minimum 20dB (50-870MHz) with typical values as high as 24dB to 26dB. Amplifier modules offer excellent frequency response and distortion characteristics at high output signal levels. To achieve the required gain and slope for a particular application, plug-in attenuator and equalizer sockets are placed at the input and output stages of the amplifier circuit. The chassis and amplifier housings are designed for optimum heat dissipation Available options include: amplifier module -20dB test ports and -48V DC powering.
MCP Series passive modules are available in a wide variety of configurations for Return Path, Forward Path, Broadband, and L-Band applications. These passives offer exceptionally high levels of port-to-port isolation, and typical 24 – 26 dB return loss. See MCP Series datasheet for additional information and specifications. |
